30 de abril de 2024WHO IS SIR JOHN WOODHALL
Sir John Woodhall, of English origin, was taken in by Chinese monks with whom he had the opportunity to study traditional Chinese medicine and Qi Gong. He traveled all over the world healing patients from all walks of life, even in his native England, for which he was distinguished with the title of Sir.
He spent the last years of his life living in Spain with his family and attending to his patients, who pay homage to him.
"Wind is the change. It creates change. It creates action. It creates movement. Emotionally, if the wind is stagnant, or the wind is too cold, or the wind is too hot, then the physical body suffers. It is a form of disease. I've lived long enough and researched enough, and seen enough people in my life to confirm that. Because as soon as you release the wind, the physical being immediately begins to feel better. Their pain disappears.”
DOCUMENTARY: " WIND IS THE CHANGE"
In 2004 we recorded a long interview with Sir Jhon Woodhall as part of the documentary film "Camino al andar". With the death of the doctor and listening to the long interview that, in an exceptional way, he had granted us and the great interest of everything he told, we have taken as a task to spread his words in a more universal way: a documentary of one hour of duration in our online platform and open amaranta.tv.
To give an image and music to support Sir John's words we have gathered three creators particularly sensitive to his way of healing: the choreographer Catalina Mahecha, the musician and composer Navid Hejazi and the filmmaker Sholeh Hejazi.
Catalina Mahecha is an improvisational dancer and researcher of the body in movement. She is a Contact Improvisation teacher and creator of her own projects: Cuerpo mágico and cuerpo y voz.
Navid Hejazi Hejazi is a violinist trained as a film composer in Los Angeles. He composes soundtracks for Hollywood studio productions such as Warner Bros. and 20th Century Studio and video games from developers such as Capcom and Lucasfilm Games. His works are broadcast on television networks such as Fox, NBC and Paramount Network and streamed on platforms such as HBO and Netflix among others.
Sholeh Hejazi, director, was born in Tehran (Iran) and is the daughter of poet Manuchehr Hejazi Tafrishi, one of the great voices of contemporary Persian poetry. Convinced
PROJECT STATUS
February and March 2024: Funding
We have already edited the structure of the hour of the documentary: selection of the concepts that John Woodhall talks about and an order in time, having already a slow rhythm of listening.
Now we are locating the natural landscapes where to record Catalina's choreography and that will configure the image of the documentary accompanying John's ideas. We are configuring the team of camera operators (there will be three) in addition to the drone. Each member of the film crew must also be imbued with the soul of the documentary in order to be all in tune with the same tonality.
In parallel, Navid is immersed in the search for the tone of John's voice to compose the music and its subsequent recording in sound studios.
In the image post-production studio, our colleague Zoltán Farkas is already preparing the image corrections and planning the union of the two images, John and Catalina's moving body. The post-production to obtain a worthy and beautiful master of the documentary is also going to suppose an important economic investment since we need to have high technology in the studios as well as AI.
April and May 2024: Filming and post-production
Once this financing stage is completed, the filming and post-production process with the team will begin in April. It is expected that in two months we will reach the final master and therefore we can release the documentary in June 2024. First it will be in Madrid and then, if we have reached the optimum in the crowdfunding, we will plan screenings in different cities and environments throughout the Spanish geography. The team will accompany the tour through the cities in order to always be able to maintain a subsequent dialogue with the audience.
June 2024: Premiere of the documentary
July/September 2024: Tour of screenings
